A FOUNDER'S GRADE CAST IRON PLANE BODY for a Sargent No. 424 2 5/8" width jointer plane, "Type 2", by Sargent & Company, New Haven, Connecticut. Fully 98% of the original black japan finish remains on this extra essentially unused plane body which is cast with the "424" designation near the heel of the plane. It has the early type frog base used with the early "horseshoe lateral" frog design used on the earliest Sargent bench planes. As good as they get. Length = 24.00 Inches (Ref.
