An ORIGINAL LEVER CAP for a Sargent No. 424 or 424 C 2 5/8 inch width jointer plane by Sargent & Company, New Haven, Connecticut. This early cap is not marked with the Sargent name, but the No. 424 number is cast on the underside of the plane.
