Specifications

An ORIGINAL CUTTING IRON AND CHIP BREAKER for an early style 2 1/4 inch width Stanley No. 5 1/2 or 605 1/2 bench plane by STANLEY. Stanley changed the width of the cutter for the No. 5 1/2 from 2 1/4 inches to 2 3/8 inches so that the irons for the 4 1/2, 6, 7 and 5 1/2 would be interchangeable. This is the earlier, narrow 2 1/4 inch width size. Both the cutting iron and chip breaker are in excellent condition and could be put directly to use.
