An ORIGINAL 2 1/8" WIDTH CUTTING IRON for a Chaplin's Improved smoothing plane, No. 1205, by Tower & Lyon, New York, New York. This extra clean cutter is clearly marked with the maker name and patent information. Unlike bench planes by Stanley and other major makers, the jack plane size of the Chaplin's Improved plane uses a slightly wider cutting iron, measuring 2 1/8" in width. Length = 6.38 Inches (Ref.
