A FOUNDER'S GRADE SIDE PLATE AND FIXING SCREWS for a Stanley No. 140 skew blade rabbet plane by STANLEY. This original side plate retains nearly all of its original blued finish on the inside. It is marked on the side of the plate with the date of the November 6, 1894 U.S. Patent of Justus A. Traut, which applied to the design of the No. 140 plane.
