An ORIGINAL LATER TYPE "TALL" FRONT KNOB for a Stanley No. 4 1/2 heavy smoothing plane, No. 6 fore plane or No. 7 jointer plane by STANLEY. Fully 95% of the original lacquer finish remains on this extra clean knob, which came from a "Type 14" version of the No. 7 plane. The planes of the "Type 14" version were the first to have the raised ring cast in the front of the bed to secure the handle and this knob has the distinctive tapered base designed to accommodate that raised ring.
