An ORIGINAL 2 5/8" WIDTH CUTTING IRON AND CHIP BREAKER for a Stanley Liberty Bell jointer plane, No. 132, by STANLEY. The iron is marked with the "Type 1" trademark showing the 1876 U.S. Patent information in circualar for used on the earliest examples of the "Liberty Bell" planes. The original screw to secure the plane iron to the chip breaker and the screw having a raised ridge to engage the Justus A. Traut lever adjustment mechanism patented in 1876 are included as well.
