An ORIGINAL CUTTING IRON AND CHIP BREAKER for a Sargent No. 410 heavy smoothing plane, No. 418 fore plane or No. 422 jointer plane by Sargent & Company, New Haven, Connecticut. This 2 3/8" width cutter is marked with the "Type 5" trademark showing the Sargent name and is in excellent working condition.
