An ORIGINAL CUTTING IRON AND CHIP BREAKER for a Sargent No. 410 heavy smoothing plane, No. 418 fore plane or No. 422 jointer plane by Sargent & Company, New Haven, Connecticut. This 2 3/8" width later type cutter is marked with the Sargent logo and is in top working condition. This plane is marked with the "Type 6" version of the Sargent logo, which includes the number of the plane for which it was designed, the No. 422, but it will also work with other planes by Stanley, Millers Falls and others that use a 2 3/8" width cutting iron.
