An ORIGINAL CUTTING IRON for a Stanley No. 278 rabbet & filletster plane by STANLEY. The cutter has milled grooves on the back side to engage the lever adjustment mechanism for the depth of cut. As was the case on early examples of the No. 278, this cutter is not marked with a trademark or maker imprint, but it will fit in and work with all models of the No. 278 that were produced.
