Specifications

An EXTRA EARLY SMOOTH FACE LEVER CAP for a Sargent No. 410 heavy jack plane, No. 418 for plane or No. 422 jointer plane by Sargent & Company, New Haven, Connecticut. This cap has a "keyhole" opening in the face and it has smooth casting. These caps were used only on "Type 1" and "Type 2" Sargent planes. The underside is cast with the designation marked "418/422". It is designed for use with a 2 3/8" width cutting iron. This one needs a bit of a cleanup, but it is without any chips, cracks or other apologies and could be put directly to use.
